⛲ 【Wong Nai Chung Reservoir - Park (黃泥涌 水塘 - 公園)】 is a leisure park brimming with historical and natural charm, situated at Wong Nai Chung Gap in the Southern District of Hong Kong Island. Its precursor was the Wong Nai Chung Reservoir built in 1899, which was the third drinking water reservoir constructed in Hong Kong’s history. Following the completion of larger reservoirs, this site was converted in 1986 into Hong Kong’s first pedal-boat park. The park excellently preserves a historic century-old dam, a valve house, and stone-masonry spillways (all listed historic structures). Surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful lake reflections, it is a highly favored weekend getaway for boating, casual walks, and historical exploration. —
