Pottinger Peak

🏔️【Pottinger Peak (砵甸乍山)】 is a mountain in the eastern part of Hong Kong Island, with an elevation of 312m. It lies south of and north of Big Wave Bay. Named after Hong Kong’s first Governor Sir Henry Pottinger, its original local name was “Ma Tong Shan”. The peak is within Country Park, and hosts a digital TV relay station serving Shek O and Cape D’Aguilar. To the west, Ma Tong Au separates it from Mount Collinson; to the east, it connects to Hei Kok Tau. Surroundings include Hei Kok Tau Lighthouse ruins, British Army power station remains, and Big Wave Bay rock carvings.

Along the way are Hei Kok Tau Lighthouse ruins, British Army power station relics, and wildlife such as wild piglets and butterflies. From the summit, vistas extend to Tung Lung Chau and Tseung Kwan O.
