【Hiking • 004】
Sharp Peak . Chek Keng . Wong Shek Pier
蚺蛇尖 . 赤徑 . 黃石碼頭
This hiking route kicks off from 【Wong Shek Pier (黃石碼頭)】 and passes through 【To Kwa Peng (土瓜坪)】. This section is relatively flat and perfect for a warm-up. You’ll then follow 【MacLehose Trail • Section 2 (麥理浩徑 • 第2段)】, where you can catch distant views of 【Sharp Peak (蚺蛇尖)】. As one of the “Three Sharp Peaks of Hong Kong,” conquering 【Sharp Peak (蚺蛇尖)】 requires a fair bit of stamina and technical skill, but the panoramic views from the summit are absolutely stunning. Once you reach 【Chek Keng (赤徑)】, you’ll find a historic Hakka village featuring the century-old 「Holy Family Chapel」. Moving past 【Tai Lang Au (大浪坳)】, the trail starts to incline, so you’ll need to put in some legwork. You will then arrive at 【Sharp Peak Au (蚺蛇坳)】, which serves as the starting point for the climb up the peak. The stretch from 【Sharp Peak Au (蚺蛇坳)】 to 【Sharp Peak (蚺蛇尖)】 is quite steep and rugged, so watch your step and climb with care. Finally, head back down the same way from 【Sharp Peak (蚺蛇尖)】 to 【Chek Keng • Pier (赤徑 • 碼頭)】. From there, you can hop on a kaito (街渡) to head back to 【Wong Shek • Pier (黃石 • 碼頭)】.
