Starting from 【Kadoorie Farm (嘉道理農場)】, head uphill through shaded trails to reach the first peak, 【Ma Tsai Tung (孖仔峒)】, for views of Tai Po and Yuen Long. Next, tackle the famous ridge of 【Tai To Yan (大刀屻)】, named for its steep, 『Knife-edge』 terrain. Continue across 【North Tai To Yan (北大刀屻)】 to 【Kei Lak Tsai (箕勒仔)】, then descend via the well-equipped 【Wu Dip Shan Path (蝴蝶山徑)】. Enjoy the lookout points facing Mainland China before finishing at 【Fung Yin Sin Koon (蓬瀛仙館)】 near Fanling Station.

【Start】 Take bus 64K and get off at the 【Kadoorie Farm (嘉道理農場)】 stop. The 【Tai To Yan • Hiking Entrance (大刀屻 • 登山入口處)】 is near the archway, directly opposite 【Kadoorie Farm (嘉道理農場)】. Shortly after entering, you’ll see a signpost for 【Tai To Yan (大刀屻)】; follow the arrow to the left to start your 『ascent』.

【Finish】 After trekking about 2.6km from 【Tai To Yan (大刀屻)】, you’ll reach the end of the ridge at 【North Tai To Yan (北大刀屻)】. Once you cross the north peak, the next stop is the final summit of the trip: 【Kei Lak Tsai (箕勒仔)】. Leaving 【Kei Lak Tsai (箕勒仔)】, continue for another 2.4km to finally reach the finish line at 【Fung Yin Sin Koon (蓬瀛仙館)】.

After trekking for about 1km along the razor-sharp ridge, you’ve finally reached the star of today’s show: 【Tai To Yan (大刀屻)】.

After leaving 【Tai To Yan (大刀屻)】, keep pushing towards the next stop, 【North Tai To Yan (北大刀屻)】. You’ll pass through a unique little 『jungle』 stretch with dense, towering trees lining both sides of the path.

After covering about 2.6km from 【Tai To Yan (大刀屻)】, you’ll arrive at the end of the ridge: 【North Tai To Yan (北大刀屻)】.

14. 📍 Tai To Yan Path • Hiking Signpost 《IV》

Reaching this junction, the signpost shows just how “well-connected” this trail is, with paths branching off to 【Wo Hop Shek (和合石)】, 【Lam Tsuen (林村)】, and 【Fanling Station (粉嶺車站)】.

15. 📍 Wu Dip Shan Path • Bamboo Pavilion

On the descent, as you transition from 【Tai To Yan Path (大刀屻徑)】 to 【Wu Dip Shan Path (蝴蝶山徑)】, you’ll pass a charming pavilion specially constructed from bamboo.

Trek for another 700m to reach 【Shun Fai Pavilion (春暉亭)】, which also serves as an entry point to the 【Wu Dip Shan • Hiking Trail (蝴蝶山 • 行山徑)】.
