The Victoria Peak – Lions Pavilion is a viewing platform located at Victoria Peak in Hong Kong. Donated and constructed by the Lions Clubs International in 1969, its official name is the Akihito Pavilion to commemorate the visit of Emperor Akihito of Japan to Hong Kong. The design of the Victoria Peak – Lions Pavilion adopts a traditional Chinese pavilion style, adorned with stone-carved lions all around. The Lions Pavilion is one of the best locations to appreciate the night views of Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour, offering a sweeping view of the city’s hustle and bustle completely free of charge. It takes less than a two-minute walk along Findlay Road next to the Peak Tower to reach the Lions Pavilion, with several luxury mansions and villas visible along the path. There are four stone-carved lions surrounding the Victoria Peak – Lions Pavilion, each representing one of the four nations that have historically left an administrative imprint on Hong Kong: Britain, China, the Netherlands, and Portugal. The Victoria Peak – Lions Pavilion is a landmark rich in historical and cultural value, as well as an ideal spot for taking commemorative photographs.
