So Lo Pun Village – Unique Architecture

Inside the village, we discovered a unique two-storey building. Unlike the surrounding collapsed blue-brick houses, this structure was built with concrete, rebar, and white exterior wall tiles. This reflects a time during the 1960s and 1970s when some villagers who had moved to the city or overseas saw their financial situations improve, prompting them to return and renovate or build more modern homes. The second floor features a balcony with iron railings—a highly “modern” design for such a remote village back then—showing that the village went through a modern transition period before being completely abandoned.
