The most prominent two-storey building with a veranda on the left of the photo is Kai Choy School. 《Architectural Style》: It is a classic New Territories rural school designed for both “civil and military” purposes. The Western-style arched corridor on the first floor reflects the Western architectural influences on villages in the early 20th century. Built around 1932, the school was funded by donations from the 《Ho Clan》 of Kuk Po Village and overseas Chinese. Back then, it was a major education hub for several nearby villages. As the rural population moved away, the school shut down in 1993. 《Kai Choy School》 is currently listed as a Grade 3 Historic Building in Hong Kong.
