After turning from Tai Tam Road into Shek O Road, you will see the Shek O Country Park signpost, and you can then head up the steps to make your way toward the Hong Kong Trail / 🐲Dragon’s Back. Shek O Country Park is a country park located in the southeastern part of Hong Kong Island, covering an area of 701 hectares across the Shek O Peninsula and Cape D’Aguilar Peninsula, making it a popular destination for hiking and outings in Hong Kong. Designated on September 21, 1979, Shek O Country Park borders Tai Tam Country Park to the west, with Tai Tam Road serving as the boundary between them. There are 3 main hiking trails within the park, including Hong Kong Trail Section 7, Hong Kong Trail Section 8, and the Pottinger Peak Country Trail. Along these routes, you can enjoy views of Stanley, Tai Tam, Shek O, and the outlying islands, as well as take in the beautiful mountain and coastal scenery of Tai Tam Bay and the Clear Water Bay Peninsula. Among them, 🐲Dragon’s Back, which is covered by Section 8 of the Hong Kong Trail, was selected by *TIME Magazine* in 2004 as the “Best Urban Hiking Trail in Asia.” If you enjoy natural beauty and outdoor activities, a visit to Shek O Country Park is an absolute must 😊.
