Walking a bit further in, we spotted a massive banyan tree growing straight out of a stone house structure. Its roots dig deep into the walls and foundation, while its branches and leaves spread out like a giant umbrella covering the entire roof area—a living testament to how “Yung Shue Au” (Banyan Pass) got its name. The wall on the left showcases traditional blue-brick and stone masonry. Even though the roof has caved in, the thick door frames and sturdy walls still stand strong, showing just how solid the original construction was.
