Yung Shue Au Village, Bladder Hibiscus – Life Plant

《Bladder Hibiscus》 is a highly resilient succulent, scientifically known as *Kalanchoe pinnata*, and popularly known by fun nicknames like the “Life Plant” or “Resurrection Plant.” Along the notched edges of its leaves, it grows many tiny adventitious buds. When these little buds drop to the ground, or even when an entire leaf falls off, they can quickly grow into new plants as soon as they touch the soil. This is exactly why it earned its “unkillable” reputation. In the photo, you can see them right in their blooming season. The flowers hang down like little bells or lanterns, usually in a pale pink or purplish-red hue, with a balloon-like calyx wrapping around the outside.
