Passing past 《Fuk On Kui》, we come to an open area where a shrine stands, appearing to be a place where villagers performed sacrifices. In Hakka villages, this is usually where they worship “Pak Kung” (the Earth God) to bring peace to the whole community. It is nestled under a massive old banyan tree, which is also one of the reasons behind the name “Yung Shue Au” (Banyan Pass).
