The Lai Sam Ancient Trail 《I》 charts a course through Sam A Village, situated in the northeast New Territories. As one of the seven historic villages of the Sha Tau Kok Hing Chun Yeung alliance, it boasts a history spanning three to four centuries. It remains a traditional Hakka village settled exclusively by the Tsang clan, housing around fifty households during its peak. The village houses cluster around Lo Wai, where the ancestral hall stands.
