《The Old Well》 In Front of Tolo Bar: Built by the ancestors of the villagers and blessed by the local Earth God, this old well supplied the residents of Yung Shue Au with fresh water for generations. Back in the day, villagers would gather here to draw water, wash clothes, and chat, while the well water was also used to irrigate nearby fields, supporting the village’s agricultural life. By the early 1960s, villagers built a small reservoir up the stream and laid down water pipes, giving the village a steady tap water supply. As the piping system improved, the old well was retired from daily use and turned into a backup for irrigation and washing. Its structure remains perfectly intact today.
