Kuk Po: Kuk Po Living Room – Exhibition | Kai Choy School and Tsz Ching Tong

This piece uses a minimalist 《Line Art》 style with fine pen strokes. The most eye-catching building right in the centre is the most iconic historic landmark in —《Kai Choy School》. 《Architectural Features》: You can clearly see the finely sketched two-storey veranda and the Republican-era style archways (archivolts). 《Tsz Ching Tong》: Connected right next to the school is the “Tsz Ching Tong” Lee Ancestral Hall. The artwork uses a vertical layering effect to bring out the depth of this building, which perfectly blends Western-style decorations with traditional Chinese design. 《Village Cluster》: The dense pack of small houses surrounding the frame shows what looked like during its peak, with multiple walled villages (like Lo Wai, San Wai, and Tai Wai) tightly knit together. 《Terrain and Waterways》are also part of the frame. In reality, Kuk Po Village faces Hoi, and back in the day, villagers relied heavily on waterways to commute or trade agricultural produce—a detail that is beautifully captured in the artwork.
