Po Pin Chau 《V》

Po Pin Chau is a small island located off the East Dam of in District, famous for its spectacular hexagonal rock columns. During the Jurassic period over 100 million years ago, a series of volcanic eruptions occurred in Hong Kong, spewing out massive amounts of lava and volcanic ash. As the volcanic ash cooled around the volcanic crater, it formed rock columns with hexagonal cross-sections. The structure is about 200 metres long, 100 metres wide, and 63 metres high. was originally a cape extending into the sea from Fa Shan on High Island, but after years of marine erosion, it eventually separated from Fa Shan to become a sea stack.
