The Lung Fu Shan Country Park – Chinese Herbal Garden is a Chinese herbal medicine educational venue developed through collaboration between a non-governmental organization and the government, located within Lung Fu Shan Country Park in the Western District of Hong Kong Island. It was established in 2000 by the Lung Fu Shan Country Park Morning Walkers Association, with approval from relevant government departments and the assistance and support of organizations such as the Central and Western District Council, the Central and Western District Office, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, and the School of Chinese Medicine of The University of Hong Kong. It stands as the only Chinese herbal medicine educational venue in Hong Kong run jointly by a civil group and the government, and it is open to the public for viewing. The Lung Fu Shan Country Park – Chinese Herbal Garden is divided into the No. 1 and No. 2 cultivation plots; though not large in area, it has cultivated over 500 species of Chinese medicinal herbs over the years, including many rare and protected treasures. Each herb is fitted with an information plaque introducing its name, nature, flavor, and efficacy, making it convenient for citizens to recognize and learn about them.
