MacIntosh Forts: Witnesses to History Built between 1949 and 1953 along the Shenzhen River, the seven MacIntosh Forts were originally used to monitor the border and combat illegal activities. Two of these forts are located within Robin’s Nest Country Park at Mine Peak and Pak Kung Au, which also happen to sit at the highest altitudes among all seven forts. Having fulfilled their historic missions, the forts were classified as Grade 2 Historic Buildings in 2009, adding an extra layer of historical value to Robin’s Nest Country Park.
