Visitor Info Board: Across Generations, Wan Yat-wang Clan Ancestral House

《Yat Wang Ancestral House》: Echoes of a family’s growth. The Wan Yat-wang clan ancestral house is the family home of Indigenous Inhabitant Representative (Village Head) 《Wan Wah-chung》. Built before World War II in the traditional Hakka architectural style, it features a gable roof with wooden beams—simple and elegant, showcasing early Hakka craftsmanship. As the family grew in the 1960s, the ancestral home went through a major renovation and was split into three separate units. The new design introduced modern architectural elements like circular windows and flat concrete roofs. According to villagers, the renovation was carried out by Mr. Lau from , who worked on multiple houses across and left a deep imprint on the village’s architectural look.
