Hok Tau Reservoir is situated in the North District of the New Territories, Hong Kong, nestled within the boundaries of Pat Sin Leng Country Park and named after the nearby village of Hok Tau Wai. Constructed in 1968, this irrigation reservoir has a capacity of approximately 180,000 cubic metres and takes the shape of a crescent moon. The Hok Tau Reservoir Family Walk loops completely around the reservoir, spanning a total length of about 2.5 kilometres and taking around 1 hour to complete. Along the trail, you can take in the murmuring streams of the Tan Shan River and gaze down upon the breathtaking reservoir scenery framed by the surrounding peaks of Pat Sin Leng. The area is also well-equipped with an experimental forest, a campsite, and various barbecue and picnic sites, making it perfectly suited for families to enjoy a day out hiking and exploring nature!
