The Shui Long Wo – Star Lookout resembles a miniature ancient fortress, standing 6 metres tall and enveloped by dense woodlands. The lookout was built as a replica of the ancient astronomical observatory in Gaocheng Town, Dengfeng County, Henan Province, which was originally constructed in 1276 by order of Kublai Khan, the founder of the Yuan Dynasty, to measure shadows, observe stars, and keep time.
