MacLehose Trail – Section 5, Adenosma glutinosum

Wildflowers along . 『Adenosma glutinosum』 (L.) Druce is an erect herbaceous plant belonging to the family Plantaginaceae. The plant can reach a height of 30–100 cm, with cylindrical stems and lanceolate-ovate to broad-ovate leaves that feature cuneate to truncate or subcordate bases. Flowers are solitary in leaf axils or clustered into dense terminal racemes at the tips of stems and branches. The bracts are leaf-like but smaller, becoming nearly linear and entire toward the top of the inflorescence. The corolla is purplish-red or blue-violet, with an ovate upper lip and a three-lobed lower lip, and the style gradually widens upward with thin, membranous wings. The capsules are ovate with a beaked apex, and the seeds are oblong, ranging from brown to dark brown. Its flowering and fruiting period runs from July to October.
