Hong Kong Trail – Section 6, Mount Parker Section

After passing the Reservoir – Main Dam, continue heading forward along the edge of the reservoir. In the distance, you can catch a glimpse of Hong Kong Parkview which we passed by earlier, as well as another mountain peak farther out, Mount Violet. Hong Kong Trail Section 6 Mount Parker Section is a route that runs up and down along Mount Parker Road, starting at Quarry Gap and ending at Road. The total length of this route is about 6.5 kilometres, taking around 1.5 hours to complete. It is not high in difficulty, making it perfect for beginners and family outings. Along the way, you can admire the waterworks heritage features of —such as the “First Dam in Asia” and the arched masonry dams—as well as the scenic landscapes of Tai Tam Upper Reservoir and Tai Tam Byewash Reservoir. Mount Parker Road is a wide paved road where quite a few cyclists and runners like to exercise. Since the final section of the route is mostly shaded under trees and relatively flat, you can alternatively choose to hike eastward up to Mount Parker Peak from Quarry Gap to enjoy sweeping urban views of Hong Kong Island East.
