Sunset Peak, originally named Tai Tung Shan, is the third highest peak in Hong Kong. Located on Lantau Island, it sits east of Lantau Peak and west of Yi Tung Peak, separated from Lantau Peak by Pak Kung Au. Standing at 869 meters above sea level, Sunset Peak is surpassed only by Tai Mo Shan (957m) and Lantau Peak (934m). The area surrounding Sunset Peak is designated within the South Lantau Country Park and North Lantau Country Park. Sunset Peak is traditionally famous for its sunset views and the beautiful silvergrass landscapes during late autumn.
