Hong Kong’s remote countryside is packed with rich natural ecology, traditional architecture, and cultural heritage. The Countryside Conservation Office under the Environment and Ecology Bureau has connected these village attractions into a series of “Nature Trails”. You are now at the starting point of the “Nature Trails” (Kuk Po Section). Kuk Po is a Hakka village with nearly 400 years of history. In the late Qing Dynasty, its population topped 500, making it the second-largest village in Sha Tau Kok and a major transport hub on the northeast coast of Starling Inlet and Plover Cove Country Park. However, with rapid urban development, most villagers have moved out for work.
